Other Positions

Effective immediately, due to disruption of mail services in the Washington, D.C. area, electronic (e-mail or fax) applications will be accepted. If you are unable to submit your application electronically, please contact the Personnel Division at (202) 406-6090. Hearing impaired applicants may dial TTY (202) 406-5390, for assistance.

How to Apply

All applicants must submit either an OF 612 (Optional Application for Federal Employment), an SF 171 (Application for Federal Employment), a resume, or any other application form which includes the information cited in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) brochure OF 510 (Applying for a Federal Job). Applicants who submit an OF 612 or a resume must also include an OF 306 (Declaration for Federal Employment). Copies of these materials may be obtained via the Office of Personnel Management's web site at www.opm.gov. Further, applicants must respond to the required knowledge, skills and abilities listed in the each specific vacancy announcement.

For your convenience, the Secret Service has combined all necessary materials into a single application package that may be downloaded in one of the formats listed below.

OmniForm Mailable Filler

OmniForm Mailable Filler is a HTML encoded file that enables you to download a form to a diskette or your hard drive, fill out the form on screen, and save your work. From there, you can print a copy, fax a copy (via hard copy or FAX modem), and/or send the file to an e-mail recipient.

OmniForm Mailable Filler (HTML) forms will only run on PCs equipped with Windows 95 or compatible systems. (If you experience any difficulty, you may wish to to try the Adobe Acrobat version of this form instead.)

Once you've completed the OmniForm package, you have two ways to submit your application:

  1. VIA E-MAIL
You may submit your application via e-mail to address jobs@secretservice.gov.  Instructions for doing this are provided within the OmniForm file.

  2. VIA FAX
The FAX numbers for the Secret Service Personnel Division application lines are:
    • 202-406-6654
    • 202-406-6574
If you elect to fax your application, mark each page of your application with your name, Social Security Number, and the appropriate vacancy announcement number or position title.

Adobe Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) files can be printed and then used in the same manner as any traditional paper form. They can be viewed and printed with Adobe Acrobat software, including the free Acrobat Reader. This software is available for use with several different computer operating systems, including Windows 3.1, 95, 98, and NT, OS/2, Macintosh, and several Unix versions, and can be obtained by clicking on the button below.

Get Adode AcrobatPLEASE NOTE: Forms provided on this site are screen-fillable Adobe Acrobat PDF Forms. They may be completed on the screen before being printed for faxing or personal delivery. However, in order to complete these forms on the screen, you must have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader version 3.0 or above.

If you have the Acrobat software configured as a web browser plug-in application you can fill-out and print the form within your web browser. If you are using the free Acrobat Reader software, however, you cannot save the form with the fill-in data for use at a later time. You will need to use the purchased version of Adobe Acrobat in order to do this. The free reader software will, however, allow you to save the blank form itself for use at a later time if you are using the filler software as a web browser plug-in application. (For more info, visit OPM's Adobe Acrobat page at http://www.opm.gov/html/acrobat.htm)

Once you've completed the Acrobat package, you can submit your application as follows:

  • VIA FAX
The FAX numbers for the Secret Service Personnel Division application lines are:
